Verdict: The last two winners of this race have been drawn high. With that in mind, CARLA RIDGE, who has solid stakes race form, gets the vote. Like the 2024 winner, he is a three-year-old with a hefty burden. Of the others drawn high, Red Evolution, Kendall Roy and Tuco Salamanca should enter calculations. Moltophino, drawn in the middle, could go well. If things pan out favouring the other side, Keke and Bounty might be the ones to benefit. [Alan Sweetman]

Verdict: Plenty with chances, best of the British challenge looking to come from Alparslan and Blingy's Sister but a strong home challenge could see the valuable prize remain at home for the first time in four years. Magny Cours holds plenty of appeal off a light weight, while By The Lake demands respect, but preference is for JOYFUL TIDINGS, absent since accounting for a subsequent Listed winner on her Tipperary debut back in April on similar ground. Verdict: Karl Burke won this with Fallen Angel two years ago and has a strong contender in the unbeaten Prix Morny winner Venetian Sun. She has coped well with quick ground but should not be inconvenienced by an ease. Of greater concern is the question of whether she will have the stamina to resist COMPOSING whose liking for this trip is already established with an emphatic C&D Group 2 win. Beautify is a strong second-string for Ballydoyle. [Alan Sweetman]

Verdict: Winner of four of his seven races at this venue, and a soft-ground Group 1 winner at Ascot in 2023, ART POWER is tipped in the hope he can hit top form on his second start of the season. He should be sharper than when dropping away in the final furlong of a 6f event won by Bucanero Fuerte here last month. Australian mare Asfoora was back to her brilliant best in the Nunthorpe and will be hard to beat if reproducing that form. Despite her slow-starting tendency Mgheera is quick enough to make her presence. She's Quality was running consistently in Britain before contesting the Nunthorpe. More rain would bring Two Stars into the equation. [Alan Sweetman]

Verdict: Three of today's trainers have dominated this race in the last seven years. Charlie Appleby three winners include Native Trail, whose footsteps Saba Desert follows here with major claims, while Joseph O'Brien runs North Coast, who looks to have a bit to find but so did the yard's previous three winners. Surprisingly, Aiden O'Brien's sole win in that period came with Henry Longfellow but perhaps GSTAAD can go some way to rectify the imbalance here, the manner in which he finished out the Prix Morny suggests he could get this longer trip. Zavateri, already a dual Group 2 winner, also has to be respected. [Alan Hewison]

Verdict: A good-class renewal. Illinois is deserving of success at this level but may have to wait a while longer as AL RIFFA could just have that better turn of foot at this distance. The unbeaten three-year-old Amiloc adds an intriguing dimension, upped in trip and bidding to become the first of his generation to win this since 2019. [Alan Hewison]

Verdict: Fourth in last year's Moyglare, RED LETTER has come good on her last two starts and should be suited by the trip and ground following a 1m1f Group 3 win at this venue late last month. Fillies of the classic generation have won this race in six consecutive years, but the four-year-old One Look can be given a serious chance having established her stamina with a C&D win eight weeks ago, and since acquired by Wathnan Racing. The case for Snellen would be weakened by further rain. [Alan Sweetman]

Verdict: Competitive-looking but a worthy hot favourite in CROWN OF OAKS (nap), so impressive at Ascot on soft and 7lb well-in on future events. Recent irish Cambridgeshire winner Jagged Edge, along with the likes of Lady In Paris, the upped-in-trip State Actor and first-time visored Cloud Seeker look the best of the home challenge.
